Raffle Quilt 2014
"Celtic Rose"

Raffle Quilt 2014

The 2014 Raffle Quilt measures 82" x 92". Nancy Tubbs of Blue Heron Quilts is the quilt designer. The quilt is a triple irish chain pattern. Nancy Tubbs made the center medallion and guild members sewed the chains and appliquéd the braid. It was machine quilted in a rose pattern by Pat Roche. The drawing will be at the Northwest Quilters' 2014 Quilt Show on May 3 at 4 pm.

Small-Quilt Raffle 2014

The 2014 NWQ Quilt Show will feature a Small-Quilts Raffle. We need donations of small-sized, well-made quilts in any color and any style. They don't have to be true miniatures -- though, of course, those are definitely welcomed -- but they should be well-proportioned for their size. Probably about 24" is the largest size, and much smaller is perfectly fine. Flexibility appears to be the byword.

This might be a good time to try out a new technique, a new-to-you color scheme or fabric (wool? silk?), or an intriguing design on a small scale. Finish it completely (please DO put a label on it) and donate it so attendees at our show can buy chances to win it. The money we raise will help offset the costs of the Quilt Show. Questions? Call Maureen Orr Eldred. moequilts2@comcast.net

Men, women and children designed 523 blocks at the 2014 Quilt Show. Guild members sew the blocks, which are then used in twin quilts for children, such as the ones shown below. Since 2000, over 350 Build-a-Block twin quilts have been made and donated. These are truly a community effort, as 35-45 people have a hand in making each of these unique quilts.
